	ermöglicht die zeitgesteuerte oder manuelle Datensicherung, wobei der Fokus 
	besonders auf Benutzerdaten und Systemkonfiguration liegt.

- 			rsnapshot
	Mit rsnapshot ist es möglich, sogenannte "Snapshot"-Ordner zu erstellen 
	(z.B. auf einer externen USB-Festplatte).

	Rsnapshot überprüft dabei selbstständig, welche Dateien neu hinzu gekommen 
	sind oder entfernt wurden. Dies eignet sich nicht für umfassende Sicherungen 
	des gesamten Systems oder aller persönlichen Daten, aber es ist gut, um 
	ständig Zwischenstände der laufenden Arbeit zu sichern.

	Vorteil von "rsnapshot": die Dateien und Verzeichnisse werden (wenn sie sich 
	nicht geändert haben) per "hardlink" kopiert; das kostet fast keinen Platz 
	und erlaubt viele Sicherungen ohne entsprechenden Platzverbrauch.

		Konfiguration¶
	Die Konfiguration von rsnapshot erfolgt mit einem Texteditor mit Root-
	Rechten [3] über die Datei /etc/rsnapshot.conf. Dort wird folgendes 
	eingetragen:
	*	Anzahl der täglichen Sicherungen ("interval hourly, daily usw.")
	*	Name des Backup-Verzeichnisses ("snapshot_root") (kann auch auf externen 
		Medien wie /media/usb.../snapshot/ liegen)
	*	Name des Unterverzeichnisses für jeden zu sichernden Rechner mitsamt 
		Start-Pfad ("backup")
	*	"exclude"- und "include"-Dateien und -Verzeichnisse

mirrordir  copies files that are different between the directories con‐
trol and mirror to the directory mirror. Files whose modification times
or  sizes differ are copied. File permissions, ownerships, modification
times, access times (only if --access-times is used), sticky bits,  and
device types are duplicated. Symlinks are duplicated without any trans‐
lation. Symlink modification and access times (of the  symlink  itself,
not  the  file  it  points to) are not preserved. Hard linked files are
merely copied. Creation times cannot be set with Unix as far as  I  can
see.

A program for managing a WWW site via FTP, DAV or HTTP
sitecopy is for copying locally stored websites to remote ftp servers. With a
single command, the program will synchronize a set of local files to a remote
server by performing uploads and remote deletes as required. The aim is to
remove the hassle of uploading and deleting individual files using an FTP
client. sitecopy will also optionally try to spot files you move locally, and
move them remotely.

sitecopy is designed to not care about what is actually on the remote server -
it simply keeps a record of what it THINKS is in on the remote server, and
works from that.

-		Unison
Unison is a file-synchronization tool for Unix and Windows, written
in OCaml. It allows two replicas of a collection of files and
directories to be stored on different hosts (or different disks
on the same host), modified separately, and then brought up to
date by propagating the changes in each replica to the other.

Unison offers several advantages over various synchronization methods
such as CVS, Coda, rsync, Intellisync, etc. Unison can run on and
synchronize between Windows and many UNIX platforms. Unison requires
no root privileges, system access or kernel changes to function. Unison
can synchronize changes to files and directories in both directions,
on the same machine, or across a network using ssh or a direct
socket connection.

Transfers are optimised using a version of the rsync protocol,
making it ideal for slower links. Unison has a clear and precise
specification, and is resilient to failure due to its careful
handling of the replicas and its private structures.
